It is necessary to pre-register for all classes. 

Payment is due upon registration. When you register, please request a supply list for your class. Supplies are not included in class fees unless otherwise stated. Students receive a 15% discount on class supplies purchased here. We make a commitment to our teachers one week prior to class time. Therefore, no refunds will be made after that time.  If you have not paid for the class, you will be counted as a non-enrollment. In the event class is cancelled by the teacher, low enrollment or inclement weather (we follow Henrico County school closings), students who are registered and paid will receive a refund, store credit or may apply fees to another class. To prevent cancellations due to low enrollment, you are encouraged to register early.

Available to do on your own at home or save up your pieces and do it at the store in a two day event. 

  • Dates:  August 3, 10, 17, 24, 31
  • A KIT FEE of $169.95 plus tax will cover the pattern, fabric kit and embellishments.  By signing up you are only committing to the pattern.  

Introducing Kimberbell's Love Notes Mystery Quilt, coming Summer 2020! This mystery project will be revealed over 5 consecutive weeks in August. You will pick up your kit and first pattern the first Monday in August. A new section of the quilt pattern will be distributed each subsequent week without knowing how the entire project comes together until the very end.  You will have so much fun assembling each part of this quilt and then seeing the mystery revealed at the end,

If you prefer, you may save up your parts and do the project in store at a SPECIAL two day event September 2nd and 3rd! Cost of the 2-day event is $49.00

 

 Here is how it works:

  • Call the store at 804-270-1882 and reserve your kit with a $10.00 deposit.  You will be called in mid-July to pay the balance of the parts you have pre- ordered.  
  • The pattern will be distributed over five weeks beginning on August 3 and ending on August 31.  On or after August 3rd come to pick up your kit and first pattern. 
  • Subsequent parts of the quilt pattern will be given to participants each Monday or Tuesday following August 3rd either by in-person pick up or by mail.

Bring your machine with design loaded, PDF directions printed, fabrics pre-cut, hoop, basic supplies and thread. Stabilizer and specialty items will be supplied. Note:  Class project supply lists will be posted for download each month for the project of the month. Also files/designs will be sent to you via email so that you can load your flash drives and be ready for the class. 

  • Class size for in-store class is limited due to COVID restrictions.  All interested in an in-store class, please call the store to reserve your place. Kits are available for an extra $5.00.

This 2019-2020 GO! Session, we have been having demonstrations each month around different topics related to using your GO! System.  Also, we email you any handouts if you miss a club meeting. Each month we have added a row to our Exclusive Row Design Quilts.  You will get the patterns for both a beach theme quilt and a more traditional pieced row quilt. If you are unable to attend one or two months, you can pay for the patterns and make arrangements to cut out your dies. I'm pretty sure you will LOVE the finished projects -  and the demonstrations!  And as always there will be show and tell!  Come join us GO! Getters!

A “fitting buddy” is a friend that knows how to pin a garment while it’s on you, so you can do your own alterations. The supplies you need are some garments that need alterations and your pins and be ready to help another student get fitted.

Camp #1 Project: Recycle, Upcycle Fun Tote Bag

Have a special shirt, but it doesn’t fit any longer?  Recycle it and make it into a special tote bag.  This shirt must be a button up shirt, not t-shirts.  This can be a special shirt, a kid’s or parent’s shirt.  The size does not really matter, just be sure to bring a button-up!

2-Session Workshop

Join Joyce for our exciting Serger Club. Each month club members will be shown a serger project that uses a technique demonstrated during the club meeting. Each will receive instructions for the project to make at home and bring to the next club meeting for show & tell and discussion! Each month will be a different technique and project. Join the fun and build your serger skills each month.  Pre-registration is required.  

August Topic: Quilting.  Quilting with a serger is fast and easy.  Babylock sergers – and many other makes – give you a perfect 1/4" seam.  And there is no need to just make jelly roll strip quilts with your serger.  We will explore what makes a good block design for serging.  You’ll be surprised at how many quilt blocks can be made on your serger.  Piece a top, quilt as you go, bind a quilt and even quilting with a chain stitch will be covered.

August Project:    A number of quilt blocks perfect for the serger will be provided.  Pick one and make a table runner or lap quilt.  Or go big and make a bed size quilt.

This is a lecture/demonstration club.  No need to bring your serger.  Handouts covering the demonstrated material and the project are provided.
